The Opportunity

We're looking for an LA-based revenue-generating relationship builder to serve as the external face of GRID110. This is a dual-function role combining corporate partnership development & fundraising with alumni engagement & community building. You'll cultivate partnerships that drive $60K+ in annual revenue while building a vibrant founder community of 500+ alumni and strengthening GRID's ecosystem presence.

This is NOT just an events role or just a partnerships role, it's both. You're a connector who can close deals AND create unforgettable experiences.

  • Drive Revenue Through Corporate Partnerships (40%)

    • Develop pipeline and close $60K+ in corporate partnerships annually

    • Cultivate relationships with companies seeking to support diverse founders, access talent pipeline, or achieve DEI goals

    • Create compelling partnership proposals demonstrating clear ROI

    • Manage secondary partnerships and support the Executive Director with primary partnerships

    • Steward existing partners to 80%+ renewal rate

    • Represent GRID at ecosystem events to build partnership pipeline

    Build Vibrant Alumni & Founder Community (35%)

    • Own relationships with 500+ GRID alumni—keep them engaged, connected, and thriving

    • Create alumni programming, track alumni wins and facilitate collaboration opportunities

    • Manage Slack community to drive daily engagement

    • Partner with Marketing to amplify founder success stories

    • Recruit alumni as mentors, speakers, and donors

    Create Unforgettable Experiences (25%)

    • Plan and execute 12+ events annually (Market Days, gatherings, celebrations, wellness sessions)

    • Use events strategically for partnership cultivation, alumni engagement, and revenue generation

    • Integrate sponsors authentically into experiences

    • Manage all logistics from concept to post-event follow-up

    • Turn events into relationship-building and fundraising opportunities

  • You're a Deal-Maker:

    • You've closed $100K partnerships, sponsorships, or corporate deals

    • You know how to build pipeline, create proposals, and negotiate win-win agreements

    • You understand ROI and can articulate value beyond just "doing good"

    • You're comfortable with revenue targets and hitting numbers

    You're a Community Builder:

    • You genuinely love bringing people together and building relationships

    • You can manage 300+ relationships without anyone feeling neglected

    • You create spaces where diverse people feel authentically welcomed

    • You're the person people want to introduce to their network

    You're Well-Connected:

    • You have existing relationships in LA's entrepreneurship, tech, corporate, or VC ecosystems

    • You can walk into a room and know (or quickly connect with) key players

    • You bring warm introductions and partnership pipeline from day one

    • You represent GRID credibly in any ecosystem conversation

    You're Execution-Oriented:

    • You can plan a flawless 100-person event AND close a $50K partnership in the same week

    • You're highly organized and manage complex pipelines effortlessly

    • You follow through and people trust you to deliver

    • You balance strategic thinking with tactical execution

    • 3-5 years in corporate partnerships, business development, sponsorship sales, or nonprofit development

    • Proven track record closing $25K+ partnerships or deals

    • Event management experience (20-100+ person gatherings)

    • Relationship management across diverse stakeholder groups

    • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)

    • Strong proposal writing and presentation skills

    • Compensation: $70,000 - $77,000 based on experience

    • Revenue Impact: Direct responsibility for $100K+ revenue generation

    • Autonomy: Own your partnerships, relationships, and event strategy

    • Growth Opportunity: Build foundation for future Director of Partnerships role as organization scales
