RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The Residency Program is a 3-month program to support early-stage teams (1-5) with defining/refining their milestones and addressing specific needs through weekly roundtables, 1:1 mentoring, and skills development sessions. The program allows you to focus on your day-to-day business operations, while layering in critical support where needed.

The program is for founders who are focused on growth. For us, the benchmarks of growth include:

  • Team working full-time on their venture

  • Companies that have moved past the prototype-stage of their venture

  • Companies that have currently have a functional MVP or are in the post-product/service launch phase of their venture

  • Companies that have gained traction/validation in terms of revenue, users, and/or funding.

FAQS

WHEN AND WHERE?

We host programs in the Spring and Fall. Weekly sessions are held typically 1-2 times/week, for 2 hours during business hours. The current program is held weekly on Wednesday mornings. All gatherings are hosted at Cross Campus located in Downtown LA.

DO I HAVE TO BE BASED IN LOS ANGELES?

Yes. As our focus on supporting the Los Angeles community, founders should already be based in the greater Los Angeles area. This can include Long Beach and Orange County.

WHAT IS THE WEEKLY COMMITMENT?

Each week consists of 2-3 hours of facilitated sessions plus office hours and occasional workshops. Like anything, you get out what you put in. This program is specifically designed to allow you to focus on running the day to day operations of your business, while layering in support where needed to help you meet key milestones.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?

The program is free for all accepted companies. Companies must go through an application process to be eligible for this program. To add, Grid110 does not take equity in or provide funding to any Residency company.

IS THE PROGRAM FOCUSED ON ANY THEMATIC VERTICALS?

We welcome applications from any field, sector, or industry. Knowledge and skills taught and reviewed during the program are applicable and transferable to ideas form all sectors & industries. While most businesses are tech enabled, you do not necessarily need to be a “tech company” to be considered. Our companies range across various types of products/services: SaaS, mobile apps, e-commerce, CPG, food, social enterprises, fashion, B2B software, health/wellness, AI, sports, beauty.

ARE THERE ANY MINIMUM METRICS OR BENCHMARKS NECESSARY TO QUALIFY FOR THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM?

We do look for companies that have at least an MVP with some evidence of traction (users, revenue, or funding). The majority of companies are live with their product or service, but we have made exceptions for promising products/founders. The founder/co-founders should be working full time on their venture.

WHO ARE THE ADVISORS OF THE PROGRAM?

Mentors and advisors come from various fields and have many years experience. They will give you insights into multiple subjects including but not limited to business strategy, startup law, product development, financial modeling, customer acquisition/sales strategy and more.

CAN MY WHOLE TEAM PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?

As this program is focused on founders, only the founders are invited to participate in the weekly programming. Your team will be able to participate in larger community activities as well as have access to the office space.
