Job Description:

At Grid110, we're on a mission to foster the growth of a vibrant and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in California. Our non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs by providing them with the resources, mentorship, and community they need to thrive. Since our inception, we have championed the cause of reducing barriers to entrepreneurship through a range of high-impact programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts. We're proud of the community we've built: a strong, supportive network of over 6,000 founders who share our values of authenticity, vulnerability, and mutual support.

We are now looking to expand our team with a passionate and dynamic individual who will play a key role in driving our mission forward. This role involves a blend of program design and execution, partnership development, and development outreach and management. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to our cause, working collaboratively with our team to enhance opportunities and access for our vibrant community of entrepreneurs.

Program Design & Execution (60%) - Goal: To develop and implement high-impact programs that enhance opportunities and access for underserved communities in entrepreneurship.

  • Design and execute innovative programming that supports 20-50 companies over 8-12 weeks, with a focus on underserved entrepreneurs.

  • Coordinate a mix of activities for startup curriculum. For example, weekly programming has historically included one hour of dedicated programming, one hour of peer collaboration, and additional community engagement opportunities such as office hours, mentor matching, and networking events.

  • Lead virtual and in-person workshops and events, fostering a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment for founders.

  • Work closely with the Operations Director and Marketing Lead to create program collateral, streamline the application process, and ensure seamless execution of all programming elements.

  • Receive support from a Program Associate to facilitate the smooth operation of program activities.

Development Outreach & Management (25%) - Goal: To secure additional funding for Grid110 as we broaden our impact, supporting more businesses across the region and beyond.

  • Utilize a deep understanding of our programming and partnerships to identify and cultivate relationships with potential sponsors and partners, including foundations, corporations, and government entities.

  • Engage in outreach to local government officials across Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties to garner support for city-based programs.

  • Align Grid110’s goals with those of community foundations and other potential partners to fund expansion pilot programs.

  • Work with a Program Associate who will assist in the execution of development strategies and the creation of outreach materials.

Partnerships Development to Support Community (15%) - Goal: To nurture and expand Grid’s community, which boasts over 6,000 members, through genuine and supportive partnerships that benefit our founders nationwide.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with partners to secure mentorship opportunities, speakers for our programs, and sponsors for events.

  • Manage and enhance our perks and benefits offerings, coordinating monthly workshops and events in partnership with external organizations.

  • Collaborate with the Operations Director and Marketing Lead to create engaging materials, communicate with our email list and social media followers, and highlight opportunities and benefits for our community.

Who you are:

  • Team player with strong interest in building an inclusive community that supports entrepreneurs and the LA startup community.

  • We are driven by the following core values and we hope you are too: empathy, generosity, community and belonging.

  • Strong organizational qualities and skills, such as collaborative teamwork, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize and a high degree of integrity and creative problem solving.

  • Connections to the LA startup space (and beyond) with interest and availability to represent Grid110 at events in LA on a regular basis.

  • Experience with Notion and Airtable, or ability to learn quickly.

  • Resourceful with a no-job too small attitude.
